Pitstone and Ivinghoe Junior Football Club was founded in 1986

Over our 35+ years of existence, we have upheld the core founding values of the Club - key to our ongoing success - and today provide football coaching and games for children between the ages of 5 and 18.

Members of the Club are drawn from local villages and towns in the surrounding area, including Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Cheddington, Eddlesborough, Leighton Buzzard, Marsworth, Mentmore, Slapton, Tring, Wilstone, Wing, Wingrave and beyond.

Ethos

At Pitstone and Ivinghoe Junior Football Club we believe that we have a unique setup.  Our club ethos is very simple, we work on the premise of inclusion and aim to support all players in their progression, at whatever rate it occurs. Above all, we look to provide an enjoyable and friendly environment for players across the spectrum of age-groups.

Some Clubs may measure success in terms of the number of cups and trophies they win, but we're different! Our measurement of success is two-fold: firstly, through the opportunities that we provide to local youngsters, allowing them to participate in, and develop through, regular and organised football activities at an affordable cost; and secondly, through the pleasure that our members experience throughout their early footballing years.

This isn't to say we don't strive to achieve honours each season, we do, but we don't want to sacrifice participation in the search for glory.
As a Charter Standard football club, we follow the FA recommendations on coaching, child welfare/safeguarding, respect and club administration.

We believe that these are very important considerations that shouldn't be overlooked in grassroots football.

We ensure that our lead and supporting coaches are CRB checked.

Coaches also attend 3-yearly Emergency Aid and Safeguarding courses, putting the well-being of our members front and centre.

Each age-group has a minimum of one coach qualified to FA level 1 standard or above.

Club Affiliation

We have an affiliation with Watford Football Club through its community sports and education trust. This offers our coaches and players a number of benefits:
  • Exposure to professionally run coaching sessions
  • A formal channel through which players can be recommended to Watford Football Club's youth development scheme
  • Opportunities to a watch Watford Football Club home games (limited numbers apply)
This initiative, started in 2014, which is aimed to bring positive opportunities of mutual benefit to Pitstone and Ivinghoe Junior Football Club and the Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust.
