Under 6s

We aim to make training sessions FUN through skills-based games and moderate competition. As the season progresses, small sided mini-soccer matches will feature in preparation for the seasons to follow! At this age group there are no matches with other clubs.

Please contact u6@pandifootball.net for further details and to register your son or daughter for the team.
Training
Sunday mornings from 10 to 11am at the Ivinghoe Lawn
Age requirement
5 years old as of midnight August 31, 2025
  • Is my child old enough to join U6 training sessions?

The age cutoff rule for each season is that the child is 5 years old by the 31st of August in the year the season starts. So for the 2025/26 season, the child would need to be 5 years old by 31 Aug 2025.

  • My child is too young to start with the Under 6 age group. What can I do?

If your child will be eligible for next season's age group, look out for taster sessions in the prior spring. Details will usually be announced on the club's facebook page.

If your child is younger than that, you might be interested in taking a look at Little Kickers.

  • What kit is required for the Under 6's?

    MANDATORY

    • Football boots (studs or 'mouldies', but not astro shoes or trainers). Check out sites like Vinted for cheap second hand options.
    • Shin pads
    • Basic kit (PE kit or similar)
    • Water bottle

    RECOMMENDED

    • A base layer and perhaps hat/gloves if it's cold
    • Sunscreen when it's sunny

  • What happens next season?

The current plan for the 2026/27 U7 season is as follows (we will update this info as we learn more).

    Matches

    • We intend to play in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference on Sundays, home and away. Home venue TBC.
    • For the first time, in line with FA guidance, we will be playing 3-a-side.
    • Format will be 4 concurrent games with no subs. So that's 12 players each weekend.
    • We expect to be over-subscribed. We will apply the age limit policy strictly: to be eligible, players will need to be 6 years old as of 31 August 2026.
    • Younger players will need to stay back for next season's U6s (note: this is not a negative! Doing this will massively help their confidence and development).
    • Despite the age restriction we expect to have more than 12 available, so we will need to rotate week to week. We'll be as fair as we can.

    Training

    • Training will accommodate all of our age-eligible players, and will be on Thursday nights.
    • We'll train indoors in the colder months, and outdoors otherwise.
    • Indoor training will be at (half of) Tring School's gym hall between mid-Oct to mid-March. Hall hire is not covered by the club so players will need to contribute about £3 per week. This will be charged up front, probably in a couple of installments (we'll sort out those details closer to the time). This is on top of the usual annual club registration fee.
    • Outdoor training will apply for all other dates in that season. Venue TBC.

    Coaching / helping

    • The current 4 coaches will continue next season, and we have had 3 other parents volunteer to assist us next season too.
    • This is fantastic, but as you can imagine over the course of the season with varying availability, and with the new 3v3 format, we'd still welcome interest from anyone else who might want to help out.
    • The club will cover the cost of the DBS check and the online-only mandatory safeguarding & first aid training.
    • You can also take the online-only level 1 FA coaching qualification if this is something you'd like to pursue, again the club will cover that.
    • You don't need experience of playing or coaching, just enthusiasm to learn and help encourage the kids.
    • Speak to any of the coaches if you are interested to discuss this further.
