Christmas Bingo - Tuesday December 20, 2011

posted 28 Nov 2011 10:54 by Jim Fisher   [ updated 31 Dec 2011 09:11 ]

This year's Christmas Bingo - held on December 20, 2011 at the Memorial Hall in Pitstone was a great success!  The hall was packed out, wall-to-wall, from children as young as 3 to Grandparents older than we ought to mention!!!  Age aside, everyone looked to have a great time... well done to all that attended!

The Club would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all that kindly donated bingo prizes and delights for the cake and biscuit stall!  Naturally, thanks also go out to all that helped out on the night - we couldn't do it without you all!  As always, special thanks go out to our resident "ball caller" - Mr Steven Royffe!

We look forward to more of the same next year!

Chairman's Welcome!

posted 20 Jul 2011 15:03 by Jim Fisher

Dear players and parents,

I am delighted and honoured in becoming Chairman of our club for the coming year. I have been involved with the club for the past 9 years as a parent and active within the club for the past 8 years as both Treasurer and as a Team Manager. My wife and I live locally in Pitstone with our 3 sons, and it was their passion for football that developed my passion for our club and the provision of football for all within our community. I am delighted that we are the club of choice for so many boys and girls from Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Marsworth, Cheddington and surrounding villages, as the club prides itself on providing a fun and safe environment for all children, of all abilities, to develop their football skills.

Our club has grown steadily each year since 1986, and our FA Charter Standard status demonstrates that our coaching, training, child welfare and club management is of a high standard. All our coaches, managers and committee members are dedicated volunteers who give up their time to ensure that the club has all the necessary resources to continue providing football.

For the past few years the club has been in a growth and development phase and our aim is to one day have a single location/venue for all age groups within the village that we call our own home, and with the help and support from local land owners we hope this aim will very soon be realised.

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation on behalf of the committee to the outgoing Chairman Doug Taylor, for his 12 years of service to the club, and I hope to be able to guide the club in its next stage of development as capably as he did. I would also like to extend our thanks to the outgoing Child Welfare Officer Elaine Wilson, for her 12 years of service and development of many key projects that has made our club what it is today.

In the coming season 2011/2012 we will have 12 teams in age groups spanning from Under 6 to Under 18, and following last years outstanding results with many teams winning or runners up in their leagues or winning Fair Play awards, I wish everyone an enjoyable and successful season.

Best Wishes

Kirk Rogers
Chairman

Grant Success for Under 15s!

posted 11 Jun 2011 12:34 by Jim Fisher   [ updated 6 Aug 2011 13:09 by Jim Fisher ]

The 2010-11 Under 15's team, managed by Mark Parkins and Andy Pike, have secured a grant of £7,000 from the Buckinghamshire Youth Bank; the money will go towards the installation of an area of Astro Turf for club players to train on. Once the project is complete it should allow training to take place all year round without damaging the pitches or wearing out the grass on the current training area. Well done to everyone involved, especially the members of the Under 15's, Callum Haig and James Nicholls, who appeared before the grant panel and made a presentation on behalf of the club.

The club would like to ask that you spend some a little time reviewing the very useful information that is available from the FA website: www.thefa.com/respectguide/
